I'm in a Theatre fraternity at my school (yes I'm a girl and it is a fraternity) and each fall we have a costume party dance where we reveal bigs and littles. These costume parties are themed, last years was Apocalypse and you could dress as how the world could end (2012, cause what other theme could there possibly be, right?) my friend Greg and I went as fire and Ice
this year the theme is Fantasyland which is a very broad theme and we can all be any fictional character we want. SO me and my friend Tyler are going as Glinda and Elphaba from Wicked. I'm SUPER excited about this, my dress is about an 1/8 of the way done but hey better than nothing right?!? I'm working with my friend Erin, who I have mentioned before, to create a cost effective and simple way of creating Glinda's beautiful blue bubble dress.
so far I have the base of the skirt and the first layer of the petals done, not sewn on yet cause I need to get some tulle on monday next week before I can really go and sew the petals on. But I couldn't be happier (nudge, nudge *lyric reference*) with how the costume is coming along, it doesn't look like much now but in person it is really taking shape. but here is what I have so far.
can't wait to get working on it some more, soon. I also need to find a good pattern for a bodice. CAN'T WAIT.
